The library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, enabling students to access an extensive range of resources and study space.

The University has been ranked 34th out of 116 higher education institutions across the UK in the 2018 survey which polled over 20,000 students. The ‘good community atmosphere’ and ‘environment around campus’ were also recognised alongside ‘high-quality staff/lectures’ and ‘helpful/interested staff’.

York St John is committed to continually enhancing and improving student experience and the Fountains Centre library is an excellent example of the wealth of resources and services provided for students.

Debbi Boden-Angell, Director of ICT and Library Services at York St John said; “Our students really like the friendly environment within the library, the different types of study areas we provide and also the one-to-one support they receive from the Service Desk and the Academic Services Team.  We also provide students with access to 11 million pounds worth of digital resources to support them with their studies.  Key to our service is listening to our students, so we have a feedback wall which allows students to tell us what they are thinking and enables us to respond quickly to any issues they may be having, from problems with finding a book to someone in student accommodation requiring a new mattress. Listening to our users is essential to ensure we a providing the right services and resources to help them succeed.”
